Friendly and approachable are the most important things that I look for when finding a good tuitor. I can’t say for others but I know that there are at least a few people like me who struggle with asking questions that we deem as “silly”. I found that these sort of questions usually stem from my lack of understanding of foundation concepts and having a tutor that can really help me open up about my issues without fear of being belittled, even after multiple failures to understand. My tutor, Mr Kevin, is everythig I hoped for in one single package. Skilled at what he does, a quirky personality and most of all, patient and approachable. There were so many occassions where I asked him the same questions because I had forgotten and he would always laugh it off and answer without scolding me. Some students require a stricter kind of teacher and I understand but Kelvin’s attitude and encouragement really motivated me to get into a subject I hated. Without his help, I would’ve never been able to jump from a U to a B for my A levels.
